    TALENT. DEDICATION. EXPERTISE.

At MTN Inc. we are devoted to helping our clients navigate the complexities of the building envelope with our extensive market knowledge, national reach, and dedication to value-driven solutions.

Waterproofing

Controlling water entry is the most important factor in the design and construction of a structure which can be achieved with a combination of appropriate waterproofing technologies and a quality installation. Generally, waterproofing is the formation of an impervious barrier over surfaces of the foundation, roofs, walls, and other structural components of a building. The primary function of the barrier or membrane is to prevent water infiltration into the structure.

MTN Inc. has decades of experience installing a variety of waterproofing technologies and offers a comprehensive suite of services for waterproofing applications, including:

Vapor Intrusion Mitigation Systems

MTN Inc. is proudly the #1 Certified Applicator of vapor intrusion mitigation systems, having installed over 70 million square feet of gas vapor barriers and under-slab ventilation systems across hundreds of projects throughout the US.

Once pioneers and now experts in VIMS applications, MTN Inc. can support radon, methane, and VOC vapor intrusion mitigation system installation for new construction as well as adaptive reuse or retrofitting applications.

Vapor Intrusion (VI) occurs when volatile chemicals migrate from contaminated subsurface soil or groundwater into the indoor air of overlying buildings, posing a potential health risk to occupants. Mitigating VI for new construction often involves implementing preventive measures, such as an under-slab piping network and/or a chemical resistant vapor barrier, during the design and construction phases of a project.

Expansion Joint Control

Expansion joints (EJs) are structural separations in a building that allow different building sections to move independently of one another. Expansion joint systems account for a small fraction of the entire building envelope, but if they are not properly installed, they can leak and can compromise the integrity of the building enclosure. EJs are designed to bisect a building structure, such that their joint openings must be properly filled, sealed and/or covered with the appropriate materials (waterproofing, roofing, cladding, etc.) to restore the intended function of the materials that are separated.

Failure within these EJ systems will typically occur at transitions that are improperly detailed or when they are not properly integrated into adjacent envelope components (i.e., roofing systems, air/vapor barriers, or below-grade waterproofing.) MTN Inc. partners with industry leading manufacturers to ensure that your expansion joint systems are thought-designed and will restore all functions of your building envelope. Remember, expansion joints are structural separations through your entire building. It’s imperative that the chosen expansion joint solution restores the function of each system component in your wall, roof, or foundation.

MTN Inc. is a trusted installer of these critical elements, having installed expansion joints in parking garages, stadiums, apartment complexes, and hospitals. We are skilled in interior and exterior, horizontal, vertical-plane, acoustic, below-grade, stadium, firerated, seismic, and split slab/plaza expansion joints.
